Worden’s Ledges is named after the Worden family, who donated the land in 1891 as a nature preserve. This tract of land is about three miles long and includes about 250 acres of wooded terrain that includes several limestone ledges measuring up to 30 feet high. This geologically unique area includes streams and waterfalls, rolling hills, and rock formations on the sides of the ledges. Worden’s Ledges offers great opportunities for hikers, campers, and photographers. Hikers can explore the many trails throughout the area, including the 2.5-mile Pine Tree Trail and the 4-mile Chippewa Trail. Both of these trails offer great views of the ledges and the surrounding area, and they can be combined to make a longer hike. Campers can also take advantage of rough camping sites located throughout the woods.  Photographers will appreciate the beauty of the area, with rock formations, waterfalls, and the peace of nature that makes up the backdrop.
