Boasting an 800-acre lake surrounded by majestic hardwood forests, Hinckley Lake was established as a reservoir in 1882 and quickly became a popular summertime destination. Boating, fishing, and swimming have all been popular activities, and the boathouse and store were built to provide supplies, bait, and trailer-launch services. The current iteration of the Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store was opened in 2015. The building is wholly owned and operated by the village of Hinckley, and it serves a range of customer needs.  The store offers an array of sportfishing and bait supplies, along with a variety of boating and other outdoor accessories for purchase. The Hinckley Lake Boathouse is also home to a full-service marina. Boat owners will find dock rentals and trailer storage available, as well as repairs, maintenance, and valeting services. The Boathouse also offers certified Mercury precision reviews and warranties, an authorized dealer for Mercury Outboard Motors and Yamaha Engines. The Boathouse & Store also takes care of the lake’s angling enthusiasts. Fishing guides are available for hire, and an array of bait and tackle are on offer.
